ENQUIRE“I was given a set of cards from the early 1800s which form a continuous landscape whatever order they are placed in. I enjoyed the sense of almost infinite variety — a kind of openness that feels like an invitation to the viewer. I wanted to make a work that was similarly generous in its form.
The final piece is very much a collaboration with Georgina Berens at Loft. The decisions about scale, colour, and text, among other things, were arrived at via a process of discussion and revision. That same openness and generosity is present in everything that happens in her studio.”
